History
And Condition
This is a great appearing and running motorcycle, that starts easily and
runs out great - just check out the video.
We have an Indian Riders Instruction Book that goes with the
Motorcycle. It may be reproduction but appears to be original, a 1951
Edition. While most of this bike is believed to be original, reproduction
parts that I am aware of are the battery holder, crash guards, (front guards
and right side rear guard are included in the sale), air cleaner, fender
tips and side car fender and light. Urethane paint was used in restoration -
no powder coating. Bike was ridden today (6/23/2008), starts easily, leaks
minimal amount of oil. The chrome on wheels looks excellent but needs
cleaned. Coker tires look new - have about 1,000 miles on them. We have
receipts. Other chrome all appears to be replated - not perfect but pretty
nice condition. We have receipts. Right hand brake lever has a spot on the
inside of the lever where the chrome has peeled off - the only significant
flaw I see in the chrome items. Lower end of engine was rebuilt by Wichita's
Truett and Osborn Cycle Shop. We have receipts. We have a thick folder of
receipts for the motorcycle and restoration work. Most of them are dated
1998 through 2001 so we assume that is when the restoration process took
place. We have not totaled these receipts but we were told they totaled
about $29,000.00. Engine # is CDG 3259. Frame # is 346884.
Its Flaws.
The only flaw that I noticed in the paint was a very small blister on the paint on the
side car, in front of the windshield. I took a photo of this area but
it is difficult to see in person and therefore does not show very well in
the photo. Other minor flaws are noted in the Condition statement
above.
Odometer
Reading. This vehicle is sold as mileage exempt due to being more
than 10 years old. However, we were told by the previous owner/builder that
the Odometer broke at 500 miles after the restoration was completed and was
replaced with new unit. Correct mileage therefore is 1,062 since
restoration.
The Video.
Crank up the volume and smile at our
amateur video - we're just trying to give you a sense of what this classic
Indian sounds like and how it looks going down the highway. Sorry about all
the extra noise in the video, its not edited so you see and hear everything
as it occured. We had a lot of wind noise, a cell phone ringing and then a
military airplane making a landing nearby at the end of the video. And, If
the video sounds choppy on your computer, (its not the bike - it runs great)
pause the video and give it some time to download or play it the second time
and it should be smooth.
