Very Original Car

Originality Is Important.

History and Condition.   This is a matching #'s car that appears to be a  low mileage and original car that has never been restored or messed with.  The interior appears to be all original and is still in very nice condition.   The exterior appears to have been repainted many years ago and has a lot of crazing and chips.  I have taken close up photos on the next page so you can see exactly what the paint finish is like.  The body and wheel openings all look pretty solid and original with some minor damage in the right front wheel opening.  A close up photo of this area is included.

    Excellent Frame on this Corvette. The metal is smooth with no pitting or rust problems.  This frame has not been exposed to the elements and is still in great condition.  Close up photos of the frame and underside are included.

    Tank Sticker And Other Papers.  We have the tank sticker from this car and it is still very clear.  A photo of the tank sticker is included.  This car also has its jack, spare tire and what appears to be the original owners manual.

    Odometer Reading.  The 48,265 odometer reading is believed to represent actual mileage but the vehicle is sold as mileage exempt due to its age. 

    Paperwork.   We have a stack of papers and receipts for this car that date back to October 1977.  We believe the car to have originally been sold in the Colorado Springs area.  A sticker in the door jamb shows the car as being serviced in January of 1971 with 18,726 miles.  An October 26 1977 contract shows the car being sold to a Colorado Springs individual (Possibly 2nd owner) with an odometer statement that is faded but appears to be 38,000 miles.  This same person moved to Hutchinson Kansas and the car was registered there in March of 1978 with 39,025 miles.  The last owner (possibly 3rd owner) is a Derby Kansas resident who purchased the car in February of 2003 with an odometer reading of 47,133.

    None of the paperwork that we looked through had any odometer reading that would indicate this to be a higher mileage car.  This is of course not proof of the cars mileage but we are reporting what we do have.

    Service Work.  This car has had all 4 brake calipers replaced.  We have what we believe are the original calipers which go with the car.  We have also had the pan, timing cover and intake gaskets replaced with gaskets purchased from Paragon.  The emergency brakes have also gotten a new kit and the rear stabilizer bar bushings have recently been replaced.  It was also reported to us that the carburetor is not original but we have not verified this.

    Drives Out Great.  This 427 Corvette has amazing Horsepower and Toque.  If you will notice in the video you can hear these original style red line tires still squawling in 3rd gear at around 70 M.P.H.

    This would be a great Corvette to restore or just drive it and enjoy it in its original condition.
