Shipping a Vehicle
I’m not local, what are my delivery options?
You may have made a shipping arrangement on your own or with our assitance. Non-local buyers also have the option of picking up the vehicle in person at our location. You may wish to drive your newly purchased vehicle immediately or you may own or be renting a trailer or tow dolly.
If you travel by air, we are happy to pick you up at Wichita’s Mid-Continent airport, only 15 minutes from Pride.
Some buyers fly into Kansas City (K.C.’s air fare may be cheaper), rent a car and drive to Derby which is just outside of Wichita; it is a 3 hour drive. We have also had a buyer come into Newton, Kansas on an Amtrack train (about 30 miles north of Wichita).
What can I expect during the shipping process?
When your vehicle is picked up for shipping, we ask the driver for an estimated time of delivery. We also request that he contact you directly 24 hours before delivery to confirm the delivery location and time directly with you.
We will contact you by phone or e-mail to give this information to you. We also provide you with the driver’s cell phone number or the dispatcher’s number so that you can be in contact directly with the shipping company as needed.
Who pays for shipping a vehicle?
We arrange for shipping for many of our internet buyers, and ship all over the United States. We will also arrange for international shipping. Shipping is always paid by the buyer unless special arrangements have been made prior to the sale.
We will guarantee an exact shipping cost for you when you are ready to purchase the vehicle. Of course you also have the option of making your own arrangements or picking the vehicle up at our location.
What does shipping usually cost?
Pride Autoplaza is located geographically in the center of the United States, and we usually can get a vehicle shipped to the east coast or the west coast for a maximum of $650. The cost is lower for points of lesser distance.
Shipping costs vary based on truck traffic between Pride and your location. We will obtain an exact cost for shipping to your location upon request.
Can I pay the cost of shipping as C.O.D.?
We recommend that the shipping cost be paid directly to the truck driver when delivery has been satisfactorily completed, though it can be included in the vehicle purchase contract if you prefer.
If you do pay shipping as COD, Pride will inform you of the exact dollar amount at the time of sale.
We recommend that payment be made in certified funds such as money order or bank/cashier’s check. Payment for shipping cannot be made with a personal check and we recommend that you do not pay with cash.
How long will it take to receive my vehicle?
Typically, once we order shipment, your vehicle is picked up in 1 to 4 days. Your car is then usually delivered to you in 2 days.
Please not that we cannot guarantee a delivery time. However, it usually takes one to two weeks.
